Farmers are provided pledge loans against their agricultural produce. During the harvest season, the supply of agricultural produce in the market increases, and often, due to the excess supply, there is a possibility of prices falling. To prevent farmers from being forced to sell their produce at low prices during this period and to meet their financial needs, the market committee, under the guidance of the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board, implements the agricultural produce pledge scheme using its own funds. In this department, farmers are given pledge loans against their agricultural produce after fulfilling the necessary documentation.
